Responsibilities
Build and lead a business analytics capability that generates insights, drives informed decisions, and identifies opportunities for performance improvement
Deliver timely and accurate financial analysis to support structured decisions. Define standards for assumptions and methods for common analysis. Ensure all board and investment decisions are grounded in robust, data-backed logic
Pivot from KPIs that are descriptive of the past towards those that are predictive of the future
Develop techniques to tell, help explain, and simplify key messages
Continually test accuracy of source data. Improve processes to simplify, automate, and expedite the collection of data. Ensure data integrity and accessibility, establishing a single source of truth for the business
Build a culture of financial accountability across the organization by mentoring business leaders and providing tools and insights that enable better decisions at all levels
Create a single, comprehensive planning process and related outputs for varying audiences
Connect long-term strategy to current and anticipated operational activities, financial performance, and capital structure. Build a dynamic, multi-year forecasting model that adapts as the business continues to evolve. Enhance the planning process through tighter integration of long-range planning, rolling forecasts and the annual budget
Support executive decision-making through effective scenario, โwhat-if,โ and sensitivity analysis
Remain current on general economic trends and industry trends. Understand cost and availability trends in labor, logistics, and real estate. Utilize information to build sensitivities into planning and foster dialogue within the business
Design and deploy FP&A systems and BI tools to automate forecasting, enable self-service reporting, and support data-driven decision making
Support CFO and executive team in preparing materials and insights for the Board of Directors
Qualification
Required
Proven leader with 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis within fast-growing organizations
Experience serving as a business partner helping to influence key business decisions and drive performance against key objectives
Deep understanding of profitability and value drivers, with a demonstrated ability to translate financial analysis into tangible business outcomes such as revenue growth, margin expansion, or capital efficiency
Ability to translate complex issues into simple-to-understand concepts
Experience with top-tier planning, data visualization, and business intelligence applications
Demonstrated knowledge of advanced analytics and financial analysis methods
Leads with insight, supported by strong analysis, based on consistent data and presentation
Clear and persuasive communicator
Demonstrated leadership capabilities in leading a team to successful outcomes
A bachelor's degree in finance, engineering or related quantitative field
Preferred
Logistics and CPG/Retail industry experience is a plus but not required
A master's degree, especially an MBA and/or a CPA, is a plus
