Gage Standards Tech - Disk - Weekend Shift

Pratt & Whitney is transforming the future of flight by designing and servicing advanced engines. They are seeking a Gage Standards Tech to perform layout evaluations, calibrate gages, and work with complex measuring tools within the Columbus Forge Metrology Department.

Responsibilities

Perform Layout evaluation on gages, parts, tools, fixtures, and Research requests
Perform duties within Columbus Forge Metrology Department for Blades and Disks
Calibrate a wide variety of gages from simple hand tools to complex part specific gages
A strong knowledge of higher-level mathematics (i.e., trigonometry, algebra, geometry, etc.) and the ability to apply that knowledge to complex situations and applications
Advance knowledge of complicated blueprint reading, along with the ability to apply to common practices in a tight tolerance environment
Advance knowledge to use and apply multiple layout tools a daily basis and work to tolerances of +/- 0.0002
Knowledge of sine plates, angle plates, Jo blocks, height stands and Cadillac gages along with all common machine shop measuring devices and tools (i.e., micrometers, dial calipers, indicators, CMMs, etc.)
Computer experience with Microsoft office and other systems that collect and compile data

Required

HS Diploma or GED
1+ Year of related work experience or vocational training
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred

Two-year associate degree or work-related experience
Solid Works, NX, or CAD system or similar experience
Previous Calibration, Gage Standards, or Metrology Experience
5 years of manufacturing experience, or quality technical training preferred
