Responsibilities

Perform structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and other transportation infrastructure projects

Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculation packages

Provide technical support/mentorship to structural engineering staff

Perform quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc

Assist in preparation of qualification packages, proposals and/or contracts involving technical approach, costs, and scheduling

Provide project management support

Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews

Required

3-5 years of structural bridge design experience (LRFD)

EIT certification required

Strong technical skills in bridge/structural design and critical thinking

Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and quality

Strong organizational and time management skills

Effective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment

Demonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writing is essential

Experience with and motivation to lead and mentor junior staff

Model-based design experience

Project management skills

Experience completing engineering studies, design reports, compiling contract documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures including AASHTO, FDOT, local municipalities/counties, and other state DOTs

Strong familiarity with any of the following structural engineering software (i.e. Mathcad, AASHTOWare, FB-MultiPier, Midas Civil, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, FDOT Structures Design Programs, etc.)

Preferred

B.S. in Civil Engineering; emphasis in Structures preferred

PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred

Project experience with FDOT preferred

Model-based design experience is a strong plus: Bentley OpenBridge and OpenRoads, AutoCADD Civil 3D and Revit/Infraworks/Inventor
