Epic Ancillary Project Manager
South Central Regional Medical Center is seeking an Epic Ancillary Project Manager responsible for the strategic leadership, coordination, and delivery of projects related to Epic’s ancillary clinical applications. Responsibilities
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Epic Ancillary implementation, upgrade, and optimization projects
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource assignments
Manage risks, issues, and change control processes to ensure timely delivery of project milestones
Ensure adherence to organizational standards, Epic methodologies, and IT governance practices
Coordinate cross-functional collaboration among IT, laboratory, imaging, perioperative, and cardiology departments
Support readiness and integration efforts for new departments or Community Connect partners
Provide oversight and operational leadership for Epic Beaker, Radiant, OpTime/Anesthesia, and Cupid applications
Ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
Partner with operational leaders to identify and prioritize enhancement and optimization opportunities
Oversee testing, training, and communication processes for upgrades and new feature deployments
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and collaborate on continuous improvement efforts
Develop a long-term roadmap for Epic Ancillary systems, ensuring scalability, integration, and innovation
Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to align IT strategies with departmental goals
Drive initiatives to improve workflow efficiency, clinical quality, and interoperability between ancillary systems and other Epic modules
Support initiatives related to quality reporting, automation, and process standardization
Supervise and mentor Epic analysts and project coordinators supporting ancillary applications
Oversee resource allocation, workload balancing, and professional development
Collaborate with HR and IT leadership on hiring, training, and performance management
Foster a team culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Serve as the primary liaison between IT, ancillary departments, clinical leadership, and external partners
Facilitate communication with governance committees, executive sponsors, and operational leaders
Partner with training and change management teams to ensure successful adoption of new workflows and system functionality
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare IT or project management with Epic systems
Epic certification required in at least one of the supported modules (Beaker, Radiant, OpTime/Anesthesia, or Cupid)
Proven track record leading complex Epic implementation or optimization projects
Familiarity with clinical workflows in laboratory, imaging, surgical, or cardiology settings
Deep understanding of hospital and professional billing workflows and regulations
Strong project management skills (PMP or equivalent preferred), including scope definition, timeline management, risk/issue tracking, and stakeholder engagement
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with clinical leaders, Epic teams, vendors, and staff at all levels
Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with Community Connect framework and partner onboarding processes
Excellent project management skills: defining scope, timelines, risk/issue management, stakeholder engagement, cross-team coordination
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
Discretion and ability to handle sensitive information
Time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred
Master's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
Certification in multiple modules strongly preferred
Strong project management skills (PMP or equivalent preferred)
