Responsibilities
Support NPI packaging projects, ensuring packaging systems are designed, tested, and validated for regulatory and manufacturing requirements
Prepare and execute packaging verification and validation protocols (ship testing, seal integrity, aging, distribution)
Develop and maintain packaging specifications, BOMs, drawings, and test documentation per quality and regulatory standards (21 CFR 210/211, ISO 11607, ASTM D4169)
Assist in design transfer activities from development to commercial production, coordinating with internal sites and CMOs
Participate in line trials, FAT/SAT, and packaging qualification efforts
Collaborate with artwork and labeling teams to ensure artwork, labeling, and serialization readiness
Research and evaluate new packaging materials and technologies to improve sustainability, manufacturability, and cost
Support change controls, risk assessments, and deviations related to packaging components
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in packaging development within pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or medical device manufacturing
Solid understanding of material science, barrier systems, stability, and sterilization principles
Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ, design control, and validation documentation
Working knowledge of ArtiosCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools
Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred
LOCALS preferred - must have recent design experience
