2026 - YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake Media Specialist

YMCA of Northern Colorado & Southern Wyoming is seeking a Media Specialist to capture and share the spirit of camp through photos and videos. The role involves producing an 'End of Session' video, curating social media content, and ensuring a professional online presence for YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

With a team of 2-3 other media specialists, capture camper photos and videos on a daily basis to meet the camp community needs, including both resident and day camp
Reports directly to the Media Coordinator
Lives in cabin or glamping tent accommodations
Implements feedback from the director team, YMCA of Northern Colorado marketing team, and camper families as needed to reach photo and video goals
Contributes daily media uploads to Waldo, our private photo platform for camper families, under the supervision of the Media Coordinator
Utilizes Adobe Creative Cloud to curate high quality photos for social media
Utilizes YMCA media equipment with care and maintains inventory of all equipment
Assists the Media Coordinator with maintaining YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake social media platforms to ensure that outreach goals are met on a weekly basis
Helps create 10 - 90 second videos showing different aspects of camp life to be scheduled to post on social media throughout the school year after the summer has ended
Create staff memories via photos and videos throughout the summer
Maintain a professional online presence for YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake through social media and other platforms
Work with the YMCA of Northern Colorado marketing team on special projects
Maintains camper ratio in resident and day camp as needed
Maintain a professional presence for YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake through appropriate staff and camper interactions and adhere to associations and camps codes of conduct
Attends all scheduled bus chaperone assignments on check-in and check-out days
Attends all required staff meetings on time
Adheres to program standards and expectations including safety and cleanliness standards
Models’ relationship-building skills for campers and staff
Drives YMCA vehicles on and off site as needed
Problem solves, communicates, and documents camper behavioral issues as they arise, and passes them off to leadership staff members as needed
Incorporate the mission, philosophy, and 5 core values of the YMCA of Northern Colorado in all communication with participants and staff-members
Other job duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

18+ years old
Previous experience with photoshop and video editing and a wide range of equipment preferred
Completion of child abuse prevention, CPR/AED, First Aid, bloodborne pathogens (We provide this as part of staff training)
Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
