Responsibilities

Develop expert knowledge of our products and their clinical applications to design, develop, and test new systems
Build collaborative relationships across program management, field service, manufacturing, mechanical, compliance, reliability, systems, and software engineering
Represent Electrical Engineering with strong leadership and effective communication
Provide technical guidance throughout the design process, from innovative solutions and design transfer to leading and participating in technical reviews
Lead and perform design activities such as analysis, troubleshooting, PCB and harnessing design, power distribution, and CAD schematic development
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, supplying technical support for manufacturing and service teams
Specify, select, and test hardware, electronic, and electro-mechanical components to meet product specifications and regulatory standards
Develop and maintain electrical test fixtures, prototypes, and test control apparatus, determining testing methods and procedures
Collaborate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure designs meet medical device quality and compliance standards
Create and maintain design documentation, including CAD updates, specifications, verification procedures, and engineering change notices in electronic product lifecycle management systems
Support and adhere to the Quality Policy, Quality System procedures, and department Best Practices
Ensure all design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair methods comply with quality and electrical device standards
Manage schedules, track tasks, and transparently report progress, risks, and resource needs
Identify, participate in, and implement meaningful improvements to product quality, performance, and manufacturing efficiency
Contribute to CAPA, VIP, cost reduction, EOL, and other key projects
Establish collaborative relationships across the division and network with internal and external experts
Pursue professional development and growth opportunities within Hologic
Manage multiple projects independently and mentor less senior engineers
Be a change agent, driving improvement every day

Required

7+ years experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
Proven experience in electrical design and product development; medical device experience is highly valued
Strong technical skills in PCB design, troubleshooting, testing, and CAD tools
Knowledge of regulatory standards for medical devices (FDA, ISO)
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities
Ability to manage several projects concurrently and work independently
Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior engineers
