Responsibilities

Develop and implement data fusion approaches by systematically integrating NASA satellite observations and crowdsourcing observations from NASA GLOBE datasets
Address challenges related to data heterogeneity, quality, and computational complexity by developing standardized protocols, employing data quality assurance techniques, and leveraging high-performance computing resources
Contribute to the spatial downscaling of NASA observations (e.g., atmospheric, surface, aquatic, and land cover variables) by evaluating both statistical and deep learning-based methods
Construct AI-driven models for mosquito habitat mapping, integrating diverse climate change scenarios to enhance predictive accuracy and future forecasting

Required

A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field
Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills
The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues
Evidence of being awarded a Ph.D. in Geography, Environmental Sciences, or other related field is required before the employment date
Rich Knowledge of deep learning methods for spatial downscaling, data assimilation, and data fusion
Familiarity with species habitat modeling
Some knowledge of climate change scenarios and how to integrate them into habitat mapping models
