Engineering Services Manager - Gainesville

The Engineering Services Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, manage a team of engineers and interns, and ensure the successful execution of engineering design projects while fostering professional development and collaboration.

Responsibilities
Actively manage the day-to-day business including staffing, planning, and execution of project assignments within the team
Support workshare and positive collaboration with all DRMP offices
Provide technical guidance and manage quality checks for all project work
Serve as primary escalation point for engineering activities to ensure that appropriate corporate resources are leveraged
Manage issues to achieve root cause identification and deploy corrective actions
Support DRMP’s recruiting, hiring, and training strategy, specifically for student interns
Help identify career development opportunities and staff pipeline for graduating students
Effectively communicate the corporate goals, philosophy, and culture
Embody the DRMP culture and contribute to the high level of employee morale
Manage and mentor staff in all facets of project work and the DRMP standard of high-quality service
Communicate performance expectations, review staff performance, and provide regular and formal feedback
Maintain contacts/relationships with local & state government agencies, and other clients in the Gainesville region
Delivers responsive, high-quality service to all clients
Supports new business opportunities throughout practice and pursue and win engineering related work through proposal/scope writing and presentations
Evaluate and communicate operational and business opportunities for regional engineering growth decisions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and PE licensure in Florida. Extensive experience and leadership skills may substitute for PE registration requirements
At least 6 years of overall and progressively responsible experience with engineering design projects, as well as leadership of other engineers and associates
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ICPR, & Ponds
Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies
Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to forge strong relationships within DRMP
Prior leadership experience, including leading successful teams and projects
Good problem-solving skills combined with a questioning attitude that probes issues and seeks resolutions compatible with the assigned projects
Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required
Preferred
Experience working on State Department of Transportation (DOT) and municipal projects
Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
Scope/schedule/fee development and management experience
