Responsibilities
Design, develop, optimize, and debug video capture, encoding, playback, and rendering focused on the Android platform using NDK APIs like Vulkan and AMediaCodec
Innovate, architect, and implement our vision for video in a 3D immersive environment
Have the opportunity to work across our platforms (desktop, mobile, and consoles)
Have the opportunity to work on our backend microservices
Collaborate with different teams all across Roblox to develop new uses of video
Be guided to create state of the art video tech for gaming industry
Qualification
Required
5+ years of designing, developing, and debugging complex C++ applications running on Android
Expertise with a wide variety of Android devices
Proficient with using Vulkan or OpenGL on Android in a performance oriented environment
Knowledgeable within the video domain, including understanding of AVC, HEVC, and AV1
Understanding of video compression, delivery, and decoding
Familiarity with YUV and HLS
