Responsibilities

Responsible for performing analysis, design, implementation, and configuration of technology platforms and environments with a high degree of accuracy
Conduct assessment, development, deployment, and setup of moderately complex technology platforms and environments
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows to support application deployment and operations
Participate with team to perform analysis, assessment, and resolution for platform defects and incidents of intermediate complexity and escalate appropriately
Configure, integrate, and maintain the platform/service layer where applications run, ensuring reliability and performance
Document platform configurations, integration points, and operational procedures
Collaborate with Software Engineers and Infrastructure Engineers to align application functionality with platform capabilities and infrastructure performance requirements
Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities in platform engineering, CI/CD methodologies, and DevOps practices
Familiarize with basic AI concepts and introductory tools, participating in foundational workshops and online courses
Engage with emerging technologies through guided projects, focusing on hands-on experimentation and understanding practical applications
Work within guidelines set by team to independently tackle well-scoped platform engineering problems
Define technical requirements for platform engineering assignments, including enterprise SaaS and PaaS solutions for application development and deployment
Attend introductory seminars and webinars on AI, fostering an awareness of its impact on technology engineering
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent in work experience plus two (2) years of technology or platform engineering experience
Demonstrated track record of enterprise platform expertise including the ability to understand SaaS/PaaS concepts necessary to do the job effectively, demonstrate willingness, cooperation, and concern for business issues, and possess in-depth knowledge of immediate technology platforms worked on
Proven track records of contribution to complex technical projects with one or more of the following technologies: IBM MQ, or Amazon MQ, or RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ, or related messaging product
Proven track records of contribution to complex technical projects with one or more of the following technologies: IBM DataPower, or Amazon API Gateway, or MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, or related API Management product
Experienced in shell scripting languages, such as BASH in Linux or PowerShell in Windows
Experienced in Windows and Linux operating system administrations
Knowledgeable in least one of the following programming languages: Java, .NET (C# or VB.NET), or C/C++
Knowledgeable in network layers (e.g. TCP, TLS), messaging protocols (i.e. MQ and AMQP), and web protocols (i.e. HTTP)
Familiarity with software orchestration tool, such as Puppet, including writing jobs
Familiarity with Public Cloud solutions, especially Amazon AWS
Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployments tool, such as Terraform
Familiarity with a container technology, such as Kubernetes
Working Knowledge of infrastructure technologies, such as DNS, Databases, Servers, Storages, Firewalls, etc
Intermediate delivery skills including the ability to deliver technology work at a steady, predictable pace to achieve commitments, decompose platform assignments into small batch deployments, and contribute to enterprise architecture tradeoff and negotiation discussions
Proven problem-solving skills including enterprise system debugging abilities, allowing you to determine source of issues in unfamiliar platforms or integration points, ability to recognize and solve repetitive technology problems proactively and permanently, recognize mistakes using them as learning opportunities, and break down large technology problems into smaller, more manageable ones
Strong communication skills that enable clear, concise interactions with team members and stakeholders. Your ability to document technology work in an accessible manner, ask clarifying questions on requirements, and actively listen ensures seamless collaboration. You welcome constructive feedback and use it to continuously improve your approach to challenges
You demonstrate intermediate leadership capabilities with a proven track record of self-motivation and initiative. Your ability to identify and pursue personal growth opportunities in database technologies shows your commitment to professional development and positions you to take on increasing responsibilities within our team

One (1) year of programming experience preferred
Three (3) years of technology engineering/platform management experience preferred
