Responsibilities

Under the Direction of the Director of Risk Management, the Patient Safety Officer is responsible for the development, coordination and evaluation of an organization-wide Patient Safety Program at St. Mary Medical Center
Key functions include internal and external safety data and experience analysis and action planning, development and integration of key aspects of the hospital's Patient Safety Plan, coordination of proactive performance improvement and educational activities related to patient safety
The Patient Safety Officer assesses and promotes compliance with The Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals and other evidence-based patient safety initiatives, and implements programs, policies, and education to maximize patient safety

Qualification

NursingClinical practice experienceCertified Professional in Healthcare Quality

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
5 years of Clinical practice experience

Preferred

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) upon hire
