Area Vice President
Airgas is a leading supplier of industrial, medical and specialty gases, and they are seeking an Area Vice President in Salt Lake City, UT. The AVP will provide leadership to an assigned business area, develop and direct the business plan and strategy, and maintain full profit and loss responsibility for the business area.

Responsibilities
Provides leadership to an assigned business area developing and directing the business plan and strategy in conjunction with the executive management team
Maintains full profit and loss responsibility for the business area and regularly provides review and corrective action plans to executive management
Identifies and leads the planning and execution of growth strategies in the assigned business area
Responsible for execution of Area Safety Improvement Plans consistent with Airgas Safety Council and Safecor guidelines
Ensures that responsibility for safety is a focus throughout the organization and that leaders are walking the talk
Responsible for field execution of strategies and plans to create near & long-term growth
Develops and implements local action plans to execute upon strategic opportunities related to growth markets (scratch starts), growth products and growth modes (microbulk/bulk)
Delivers overall top line performance in line with established field sales goals and branch business plans
Delivers overall profitability performance in line with established Region budgets and field sales goals
Maintains operating expenses in line with gross profit, customer service, and growth plans
Executes the strategic pricing targets
Responsible for the effectiveness of the local field sales process including the quantity, quality, location and required training, local engagement of regional sales specialists, the processes used for sales oversight (Salesforce) and accountability including war rooms, and execution of fulfillment by the branch organizations
Qualification
Required
Four-year college degree from an accredited institution in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Sales Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
Three to five years of sales or sales management experience in a B2B environment or comparable experience within the distribution industry
Experience managing a P&L
Clean Driving Record
Preferred
Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google products
Team player; strong collaboration skills; ability to influence
Self-starter; self-motivated, operates with a sense of urgency; ability to work independently
Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds within Airgas and outside the Company
