Bilingual Education Program Manager
Sacred Heart Center connects Latino families with tools to thrive and flourish. The Education Program Manager for Adult Education and Youth Programs assists with the planning, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of programs and initiatives, while also managing volunteer recruitment and onboarding.

Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Programs by supervising and overseeing all SHC Youth and Adult Education programs, ensuring alignment with SHC’s mission, values and organizational goals
Provide leadership, support, and professional development for the Youth Programs Coordinator, Adult Education Coordinator, their teams, SHC program staff, and approximately 30 volunteers, ensuring a high standard of program delivery
Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, selection, and training of well-qualified program staff in consultation with the Director of Programs
Help coordinate the delivery of services among different Education Programs activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency
Assist in developing and implementing long-term goals and objectives for program success, as well as relevant evaluation tools to monitor progress
Contribute to the development of the annual program budget and monitor budget expenses
Design, launch, and manage educational programs tailored to adult learners and children
Prepare reports for funding sources, ensure compliance, and track attendance and outcomes for stakeholders
Coordinate age-appropriate and goal-driven educational content for ESL, GED prep, and youth enrichment
Adapt to challenges and find effective, resourceful solutions. Motivate teams, foster collaboration, and promote accountability
In collaboration with the Coordinators, lead, mentor, and support instructors, tutors, and program staff by providing coaching and necessary resources to effectively achieve program goals
Engage with program participants and community stakeholders to enhance support for the programs and gather feedback for improvements. Build relationships with families to support learning at home and increase participation
Work in collaboration with program coordinators to design, develop, and refine curriculum for adult and youth education programs
Design and implement evaluation tools (e.g., surveys, key performance indicators, focus groups) to monitor program progress and outcomes
Monitor program performance by using evaluation tools (e.g., participant surveys, outcome tracking systems, data dashboards, and staff feedback) to ensure adherence to organizational standards and best practices, while identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for innovation
Use evaluation data (from assessments, attendance, retention rates, and outcome measures) to recommend program adjustments and improvements for increased participant impact, operational effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals
Develop and strengthen collaborative partnerships by representing SHC at community meetings and events to enhance program visibility, network growth, and community engagement
Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with organizations and stakeholders to expand program reach, improve quality, and increase overall impact
Assist in identifying and securing funding for new programs, including support for grant writing and fundraising initiatives
Maintain and support positive media relations and marketing efforts alongside the Director of Programs and other leadership
Lead short- and long-term planning for volunteer engagement initiatives to sustain and strengthen program infrastructure, in alignment with the organization’s Strategic Plan, community needs, and available resources
Coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive, year-round volunteer recruitment and engagement strategy
Serve as the primary point of contact and own the entire volunteer pipeline, managing the process from initial inquiry through successful onboarding and orientation
Organize and conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance initial volunteer skills
Strategically assign volunteers to appropriate program departments and roles based on needs, skills, and established capacity guidelines. Work with staff in each department to ensure volunteers are supported while in their assigned roles
Ensure volunteer compliance with all organizational procedures, policies, and relevant laws/regulations during the recruitment and onboarding phases
Maintain accurate volunteer records (recruitment status, training completion, placement details)
Support the implementation of SHC’s Language Access Plan as a secondary Language Access Liaison
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs to further the mission of SHC
Collaborate with SHC staff, Board, volunteers, and partners to achieve organizational goals, fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment
Qualification
Required
Bilingual in Spanish and English, with strong cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities. This role requires strong bilingual communication skills. Candidates must be fluent in both Spanish and English to effectively support our diverse employee and client base
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five years' experience in a human service organization in a client-facing role
Proven experience in program management, volunteer management, or a related field within a nonprofit environment
Strong leadership and team management skills
Comfortable adapting to the evolving needs of both adult and young learners
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups
Knowledge of budget management and program evaluation techniques
Ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships
Highly organized, analytical, tech-proficient – proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs and Apricot case management software
Ability to perform several tasks concurrently; strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to organize and maintain detailed records, complete necessary paperwork, and meet deadlines
Exemplary record of customer service focus, strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent follow-up, and an ability to work with diverse groups in a courteous and professional manner
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends is necessary
