This important role will lead a team of experts in delivering our EDP architecture, roadmap, integration strategy, and play a key role in stakeholder engagement across BCI.

Responsibilities
Supervise, mentor, and grow a team of architects, engineers and platform specialists
Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and team performance, including hiring and professional development
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and delivery excellence
Contribute to thought leadership in data governance, strategy, platform roadmap aligning with data initiatives and broader business goals
Oversee design and maintenance of the company's data architecture, data lake, warehouses
Maintain vendor relations, help adapt to change, manage application life cycle of critical technologies
Lead the design and development of scalable, resilient, and reliable data platforms and pipelines
Manage the operational aspects of the data platform, including performance monitoring, automation, and incident response
Define and enforce SLAs for data processes and quality to ensure data freshness and reliability
Contribute to the definition and enforcement of policies, procedures, and quality standards in partnership with Data Governance
Collaborate with IT security and compliance teams to safeguard data assets and ensure adherence to privacy laws like HIPAA
Implement access controls and auditing procedures to protect sensitive data
Partner with business stakeholders, data scientists, and analytics teams to understand their needs and deliver valuable data solutions
Clearly communicate complex data concepts, findings, and strategy recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience is required (two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)
Currently hold, or ability to obtain within 6 months, relevant certifications such as SnowPro Core (Snowflake) and/or AWS Cloud Practitioner, etc. is highly preferred
7/+ years of experience in data engineering, data management, or a related technical role, with several years in a leadership and/or managerial capacity
Strong preference for subject matter knowledge in Healthcare payer domain
Administering cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including services like Snowflake or Databricks
Expertise in data architecture, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, or Scala
Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience with database management systems
Familiarity with modern data tools and concepts such as dbt, Apache Airflow, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
