Forensic Graduate Engineering Intern - Summer 2026
Haag, a Salas O’Brien Company, has been a leader in forensic engineering and consulting since 1924. They are seeking an energetic Forensic Graduate Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 to contribute to forensic investigations, analyze engineering systems, and gain hands-on experience in the growing field of forensic engineering.

Responsibilities
Assist in forensic investigations of buildings, including fieldwork and site inspections to evaluate system performance and identify failures. Be prepared to navigate roofs, crawl spaces, and ladders
Support engineers in analyzing system failures, preparing technical documentation, and conducting load calculations
Perform design-related tasks such as equipment sizing, calculations, and fixture selections to meet project requirements
Utilize AutoCAD and Revit (training provided) to document investigations and designs
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate project data, identify solutions, and develop recommendations
Participate in quality control processes, data gathering, and detailed reporting for client presentations and expert witness support
Occasional travel to local project sites may be required for field investigations, including potential overnight stays depending on assignment
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
EIT certification preferred; candidates should be on the path from FE to PE licensure (required for full-time employment)
Previous design internship experience
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and engineering principles; coursework or experience in forensic engineering is a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software is preferred
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
Enthusiasm for learning and applying forensic engineering practices
Preferred
