Responsibilities
Advise clients on regulatory compliance matters related to oil and gas exploration, production, and transportation, including environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and land use issues
Draft and negotiate a variety of oil and gas agreements, including leases, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, processing agreements and pipeline contracts
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local government laws and regulations
Qualification
Required
Active bar license in at least one US State
Minimum of 5+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on oil and gas law, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department setting
Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state laws and regulations governing the oil and gas industry, including the Mineral Leasing Act, Clean Air Act, and Natural Gas Act
Experience with EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) agreements
Preferred
Experience advising clients on upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas transactions and projects
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively advise clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Experience with energy commodities with an emphasis on pipelines and terminals, and experience counseling on energy compliance matters
