Sr Database Administrator

Responsibilities
Serve as the performance tuning expert across enterprise SQL Server environments
Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations to improve application responsiveness
Troubleshoot performance issues including blocking, deadlocks, and wait times
Provide guidance and hands-on support to development teams for performance tuning and query re-writes
Monitor and analyze database performance and proactively make recommendations and adjustments
Set and enforce security standards and safeguard data assets
Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company data through appropriate cybersecurity and data management mechanisms
Support production environments, ensuring availability, scalability, and reliability of mission-critical databases
Participate in production support and off-hour maintenance and migration activities
Collaborate with business, infrastructure, application development, and data team resources
Interface with managers and staff to develop administrative and programming solutions to projects
Provide tooling, guidance, and consultation to engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers to meet company standards and grow their technical expertise
Automate administrative tasks through scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.) or third-party tools
Develop and maintain documentation, best practices, and training materials to upskill other DBAs and developers
Facilitate the transition to cloud native database technologies from legacy and on-premises implementations
Contribute to capacity planning, system upgrades, and future-proofing of database environments
Configure and maintain replication, availability groups, and log shipping
Utilize reporting tools to create custom reports from company systems
Analyze sales and marketing data through a variety of databases and related system reports to provide management quantitative data for evaluation and metrics reporting
Research, analyze and troubleshoot data integrity issues
Perform project management activities including definition, planning, analysis, specification, documentation, and testing
Work with developers to coordinate and support the integration of development projects
Support data-driven applications for input and management of data to support back-office functions
Perform other duties as requested or as needed to fulfill the purpose of the job
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science, business management or related field; or equivalent work experience and knowledge
10+ years of experience with database technology, including MSSQL, Postgres, and Oracle
5+ years of professional experience with cloud native database technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Prior experience with Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft PowerBI
Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Crystal Reports, Excel and Access
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and projects concurrently
Effective analytical and problem solving skills
Preferred
Knowledge of the real estate programs and industry preferred
