Reentry Specialist, Pivot to Peace
Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated Reentry Specialist to join their team. The role focuses on preventing and mitigating violent incidents within high-risk areas of Louisville by engaging with individuals involved in conflicts and providing support through de-escalation and mediation.

Responsibilities
Reentry Specialist provides outreach in targeted areas of the Louisville community to prevent firearm-related interpersonal violence and retaliation
Establish and maintain relationships with high-risk individuals by participating in shooting responses and providing immediate support
Identify potential conflicts and proactively intervene to prevent violence
Employ effective de-escalation techniques and facilitate mediation between conflicting parties
Identify and connect high-risk individuals with Outreach Case Coordinators and/or Community Health Workers for comprehensive support
Engage with high-risk individuals who are preparing to be released from incarceration and provide continuity of services post-release
Gather and record data on all contacts, conflicts, retaliation, and hotspots within the targeted areas in database systems that align with agency standards
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree in a closely related field, preferred; three-years of work experience in lieu of college degree
At least three (3) years of work experience in reentry services; community violence services; criminal justice; social work; or related field
Must possess versatility, discretion and good interpersonal skills with ability to work with a variety of diverse people, providing excellent customer service
Must have reliable transportation to and from work and have valid driver's license and insurance and acceptable driving record
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in a closely related field
