Involuntary Treatment Court Facilitator

The Involuntary Treatment Court Facilitator will collaborate with medical staff to assess patients for involuntary detention and provide necessary legal documentation for treatment recommendations.

Responsibilities

The Involuntary Treatment (IT) Court Facilitator works in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff to perform clinical assessments and evaluations of patients admitted on a civil commitment system-wide for involuntary detention to a psychiatric facility
The IT Court Facilitator provides testimony and writes petitions recommending Restrictive Treatment for patients admitted on: initial detention orders and revocations of restrictive orders in compliance with the King County Superior Court rules

Master’s degreeWA State Psychologist LicenseLicensed Mental Health Counselor5 years psychiatric experience3 years hospital experienceBLS Certification

Required

Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or Nursing required
WA State Psychologist License
A Mental Health Professional as defined within HB 1724 one of these higher credentials are held: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), SW Independent Clinical Lic (LICSW)
Minimum five (5) years recent experience working with acutely ill psychiatric patients specifically involving evaluation of psychiatric safety, level of function, psychiatric diagnoses and medications
Minimum three (3) years recent experience working in a hospital setting
Driver License/Abstract
BLS - Basic Life Support (includes RQI) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross
