Claims Support Specialist

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily scheduled claims distribution (all insurance lines, all clients) to associates for setup, including handling of multiple claim reports inboxes
Claims entry and maintenance as needed. Phone coverage as needed
Collaborate with team lead in maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation of claims entry standards and practices
Collaborate with team lead in completing regular claim reviews (all lines) to monitor quality and adherence to processing standards
Collaborate with team lead in training, motivation, and coaching of claims associates
Execute temporary and ongoing special projects for clients, including client requests for dedicated assistance and accessing client systems in order to process payments or carry out other clerical work
Handle incoming calls

Required

Strong organization skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in work are required
Ability to manage office workflow, multi-task, and prioritize work is required
Good verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, are needed
Basic computer skills are required
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferred
A High School diploma or equivalent is required
Two years experience working in claims; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
A current and valid driver's license within the state of practice is required
Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, general ledgers, and procedural manuals
Ability to respond to inquiry or complaints
Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations
Ability to solve problems and deal with situations where limited standardization exists
Ability to calculate figures/amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions and percentages
Communication for this position entails minimal contact with external constituents up to 20% of the time and extensive contact with internal constituents up to 80% of the time
Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership

Preferred

Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and/or accounting is preferred
