Responsibilities
Performing the design of new bridges and bridge widening/rehabilitation projects
Performing evaluation, inspection, and load rating services for existing bridges
Providing technical oversight and/or Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews
Mentoring younger staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
16+ years of bridge design experience
P.E., registered in the state of Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months
Experience designing bridge projects and preparing contract documents in accordance with FDOT policies and procedures
Experience designing major concrete and/or steel bridge structures such as continuous post-tensioned concrete beams, curved steel I-girders or box girders, segmental concrete superstructures, post-tensioned concrete substructures, or bridges subject to vessel collision loads
Strong knowledge of AASHTO bridge design specifications
Strong experience with FDOT specifications, policies and procedures
Experience with a variety of bridge design software
Track record of establishing strong external and internal relationships
Experience managing and mentoring staff of all levels
Ability to travel to project sites, company offices and client meetings
Excellent reputation as an engineering professional
Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
Willingness to continue to learn and grow technically and professionally within the company
Preferred
Master's degree or other advanced degree desirable
Experience with other state and local DOT agencies in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic
Experience with Alternative Delivery projects (Design-Build, P3, etc.)
