Technical Manager, Generative AI Labs (GAIL)

Responsibilities
Lead architecture & delivery of LLM-powered prototypes
Coordinate and mentor an internal engineering team and contractors to develop and implement projects
Pair with researchers to translate ideas into open-source products
Align prototypes with Wharton Computing infrastructure & policies
Present demos and technical road-maps to stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
3-5 years of experience
5+ yrs software engineering (2+ yrs tech lead)
full‑cycle delivery of AI-powered applications (e.g., generative AI, LLMs, multimodal models, or emerging technologies)
Python fluency plus a second server-side language
cloud & GPU proficiency
record of mentoring
Preferred
Master's degree
expertise in TypeScript
good architectural familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP or Azure
startup or high-growth experience
