Machine Learning Engineer - Robotics
Faction Imaging Inc is searching for a Machine Learning Engineer to develop navigation and perception algorithms that impact patient care. The role involves designing efficient autonomous algorithms and collaborating with various experts to integrate these into robotic systems.

Responsibilities
Design and develop efficient and robust autonomous search and navigation algorithms in collaboration with ML team, medical imaging experts and biomedical engineers
Improve fidelity of simulation environments
Collaborate closely with controls engineers to integrate algorithms into the complete robotic control stack
Deploy software onto physical robotic systems for real-world testing, evaluation, and demonstrations
Transition successful prototype algorithms into production-quality Python and C++ codebases
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
8+ years industry experience (or 5+ years for candidates with a PhD)
Experience developing algorithms for robotic search and navigation using reinforcement learning, behavior cloning and probabilistic techniques
Experience developing ML algorithms for visual perception, including image analysis, localization and mapping
Experience working with convolutional neural networks, vision transformers and diffusion models
Extensive experience with Python and frameworks such as PyTorch
Extensive experience developing in modern C++ for deployment of code on robotic systems
Preferred
PhD or Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field
Experience in medical imaging, image-guided robotics, or autonomous systems in regulated domains
