The Senior VDC Designer will manage software products, review engineering drawings, and act as a liaison between various stakeholders while ensuring effective coordination and delivery of BIM services.

Responsibilities
Manage software product including but not limited to incorporating new versions and releases of BIM products
Will Review engineering drawings including architectural plans, mechanical plans, structural drawings, single line diagrams, riser diagrams, power and lighting plans, floor plans and construction documents submitted by our internal engineers and at times external engineering firms
Will Review (and may work from) physical sites, and coordinated drawings
Will attend Coordination meetings from General Contractors and from the various trades
In that process you will do site evaluations and audits, review plan inputs, perform checks for accuracy, completeness, and you will detail and develop optimized construction plans for the physical installation of power distribution conduit (raceway, cable tray, bus duct and duct bank) systems, etc
Solve, execute and plan, install the software, create templates, get training, develop pilot projects, etc…
Be able to demonstrate in presentations the companies BIM success
Provide hardware and network support as it relates to BIM and other IT needs
Act as Liaison with corporate technology staff, software developers, General Contractors BIM Staff, etc…
Continuing education Revit's training sessions
Provide technical orientation for new hires regarding BIM tools, task and skills
Attend conferences, seminars and workshops for BIM
Provide project coordination with customers
Provide modeling and detailing
Manage and distribute coordination digital documents
Coordinate needed hardware upgrades with IT department
Market our BIM services
BIM helps construction visualize, simulate, and analyze a project before construction even begins. BIM solutions are used to perform quantity takeoffs, visualize construction processes through 4D simulation and clash detection, improve communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, and optimize execution in the field
Must be well versed in providing illustrations and documentation using three dimensional and Building Information Modeling (BIM) techniques. CAD capabilities will provide comprehensive coordination drawings to facilitate both field installations and coordination with other trades
System include latest version of Autodesk's, AutoCAD 3D
Software experience that is fully compatible with either the Autodesk Rivet or NavisWorks for collision conflict avoidance
Experience with User Interface and Navigating with the Project Browser
Have understanding of REVIT Workflows with ability to Draw and Modify REVIT families and manipulating MEP settings
Have ability to create and manage Construction Documents by creating sheets for exporting to PDF and CAD
Have ability to export REVIT model to NavisWorks for coordinated clash study's between trades
Automate routines in BIM to support standards and productivity
Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all shop drawings produced
Well versed in providing illustrations and documentation using three dimensional and Building Information Modeling (BIM) techniques. Our CAD capabilities will provide comprehensive coordination drawings to facilitate both field installations and coordination with other trades. This type of coordination efforts result in accurate facts and data being expressed in terms easier to understand between trades
Provide linking BIM to projects for submittals, construction models, shop drawings and schedules
Provide 3D Renderings
Qualification
Required
5+ years production experience in Building Information Modeling or Engineering
Must have an in-depth working knowledge of current BIM versions
Ability to use time productively and meet challenging work goals
Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance
Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic
Must have PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word, excel, spreadsheets, e-mail, web-enabled applications and database software
Must be a self-starter and possess the drive to pursue continued education on BIM
Possess the ability to work well as part of a team and independently
Possess interpersonal organization and communication skills
Be energetic, efficient and results-oriented
