Responsibilities
Create daily lesson plans and enrichment activities
Help students with their homework assignments
Monitor indoor and outdoor time with a focus on safety, cooperative play, and fun
Support the positive behavior of students in a respectful, caring, and patient manner
Ensure that all classroom rules, policies, and licensing guidelines are adhered to
Communicate and interact regularly and appropriately with students, parents, and staff. Maintain positive relationships
Meet on a regular basis with other members of the team in planning activities and discussion of individual children’s needs
Participate in staff meetings and professional development training
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 21 years old with an endorsement or degree in a child-related field such as elementary education, nursing, or recreation
At least 1 year of experience in licensed childcare or school setting (K-12)
Ability to speak, read, and write in English
Basic computer/technology skills
Ability to pass background checks, a physical exam, and TB screen or test
Ability to lift 40 pounds, work indoors and outdoors, and engage in activity with students
Must have reliable, independent transportation
Preferred
Experience with dual language learners and/or bilingual language skills (English and Spanish)
