Responsibilities

Diagnoses source of problems and determines the extent of repairs required
Replaces worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts
Grinds and adjusts valves; rebuilds carburetors; overhauls transmissions; and repairs fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems
Maintains tools and equipment and cleans work areas
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested

Required

Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in diesel mechanics and related vehicle systems such as air conditioning, electrical and brakes
ASE Certification
Must be experienced in Refueling Pumping Systems Maintenance, and Fire Truck Pumping Systems Maintenance
Experience in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Able to work weekends on a rotating schedule
Experience using the latest diagnostic equipment (Scan Tool, etc.)
Experience using Tire removal/installation equipment and tire balancing equipment
Must provide own General Mechanic tool set
Minimum requirements for this position include a High School Diploma or equivalent GED plus a minimum of three (3) years general vehicle maintenance experience
ASE Certification
a valid New York CDL A or B Driver's License
ability to maintain military gate pass access
