Responsibilities

With direction from a project manager and/or Professional Engineer Design, develop, and optimize mechanical and plumbing components and systems, ensuring adherence to engineering principles and industry standards

Applies mechanical engineering skills and knowledge to produce accurate and timely deliverables

Develops and prepares design documentation in written and computer-aided design formats to meet project and client requirements

Prepares required calculations to meet project requirements

Collaborates with project managers, engineers, and other team members as part of a coordinated design team

Assist senior engineers in the design and development of mechanical and plumbing systems and components

Develop efficient and accurate solutions to design problems

Communicates with manufacturer reps and contractors to address challenges and develop practical designs

Provides contract documents that meet the required codes and quality assurance standards

Understands and works within project budgets and schedules to help the project manager meet project financial and schedule goals

Expands knowledge of technologies, trends, and the markets in which we work as they apply to the applicable project types and continually strengthens skills

Proactively pursues additional knowledge in related disciplines by attending available in-house and external training

Participate in project meetings and contribute to project schedules

Required

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design

Strong building engineering skills and industry experience

Ability to produce project deliverables that meet project requirements and client expectations

Experience in advanced mechanical design for HVAC, piping, and plumbing

Ability to develop and optimize mechanical and plumbing components and systems

Knowledge of engineering principles and industry standards

Ability to produce accurate and timely deliverables

Experience in preparing design documentation in written and computer-aided design formats

Ability to prepare required calculations to meet project requirements

Experience collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other team members

Ability to assist senior engineers in the design and development of mechanical and plumbing systems

Ability to develop efficient and accurate solutions to design problems

Experience communicating with manufacturer reps and contractors

Ability to provide contract documents that meet required codes and quality assurance standards

Understanding of project budgets and schedules
