University of Missouri Health Care is seeking a dynamic, highly skilled licensed Health Facilities Engineer with expertise in electrical engineering principles. The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop engineering solutions for construction and renovation projects while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including architects, contractors, stakeholders, and facility managers to develop comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering solutions for new construction, renovation, infrastructure upgrade, and expansion projects
Conduct thorough assessments of existing mechanical and electrical systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, energy efficiency, and cost optimization
Develop, review, sign, and seal engineering design documents, including plans, specifications, and calculations, ensuring compliance with applicable Health Care specific codes, standards, and regulations
Provide technical expertise and guidance in selecting, installing, and commissioning electrical equipment and systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, lighting, low voltage, fire alarm, fire protection, and life safety systems
Perform feasibility studies and cost analyses for proposed projects, assisting in the development of project budgets, timelines, cost estimates, and resource allocations
Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with engineered plans and specifications
Collaborate with the design team and project managers to evaluate contractor bids and proposals, ensuring they align with project requirements and quality standards
Participate in commissioning activities, including functional testing, system balancing, and performance verification of mechanical and electrical systems
Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise during project implementation, addressing any mechanical or electrical issues that may arise
Stay updated on emerging trends, advancements, and best practices in electrical engineering, incorporating innovative solutions into projects when appropriate
May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical or electromechanical engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure by the Missouri Board for Professional Engineers (APELSLA)
Possession of a State of Missouri PE stamp
Three (3) years of PE licensed experience
Preferred
Master's degree
Engineering experience in a healthcare setting
Experience as a project manager
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department
