Occupational Therapist I/II - California Children's Services

The County of San Luis Obispo is seeking full-time and part-time Occupational Therapists I/II to join the California Children's Services team. The role involves organizing and conducting occupational therapy treatments and programs for children with physical disabilities in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities

Organize, conduct occupational therapy treatments and programs in a clinic setting
Assist in the supervision and coordination of a staff of physical and occupational therapists at one or more California Children's Services (CCS) Medical Therapy Units (MTU)
Teach appropriate functional activities with particular emphasis on activities of daily living
Improve fine motor skills including reach, grasp and release
Provide and instruct in the use of upper extremity splints, braces, positioning devices and prostheses
Provide training for perceptual motor and oral motor dysfunction and desk skills

California Occupational Therapist LicenseNational Board CertificationPediatric Therapy ExperienceFine Motor Skills TrainingFunctional Activities Teaching

Required

Possession of a valid California license as an Occupational Therapist
A valid registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
Three years of post-licensure therapy experience (for Occupational Therapist II; a master's degree in occupational therapy may be substituted for one year of the required experience)

Preferred

Experience working with children with physical disabilities
