Continuous Improvement / CORE Pilot Team Member (Onsite)

Responsibilities
Demonstrate CI (Continuous Improvement) principles and CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) proficiency and leadership in support of the business unit and functional area to achieve and sustain desired business results
Guide employees and management in using the CORE tools to become a world class leader in the manufacture of jet engine components
Champion the use of CORE tools including: TPM, Root Cause, 6S, QCPC, LSW, etc., in shop floor operations Work with team/work area/ business unit leaders to establish appropriate strategies and plans to achieve and sustain business results aligned to the CORE operating system, through Standard Production System (SPS) deployment
Actively participate in Tiered accountability process supporting area and business unit level needs Coach, facilitate and/or lead kaizen / improvement engagements including, Problem Resolution, Value Stream Mapping, Lean Cell Design, TPM, and Root Cause Analysis
Support SPS training rollout as needed and train employees on the proper use and functionality of the CORE Tools
Identify, collect and share best practices within modular center. Drive CORE / CI culture throughout the facility including maturation of CORE Framework requirements
The selected candidate will Achieve the following milestones: CORE Champion certification within 1st year of employment, CORE Professional certification within two years, and CORE Expert certification within five years
Reporting directly to the CORE Manager
Lead CORE method engagements to resolve top process turn-backs
Ensure all visual management is updated and maintained at each level
Lead CORE Engagements when necessary and/or be a mentor to those who are leading
Help team members/leaders learn to submit engagements for credit
Work with the CORE Manager to identify actions related to lean transformation and CORE maturity progression plans
Update reports as needed
Participate and/or co-lead CORE Council Meetings
Keep CORE supplies managed
Lead CORE onboarding training
Work autonomously; expectation is that you are self-managed with a demonstrated attention to detail & follow up
Qualification
Required
Must have 2-3 years of production experience and knowledge of manufacturing or shop floor/operations practices
High School Diploma or GED is Required, 2 year degree is strongly desired, but can be supplemented with 2 years of related work experience
Experience with continuous improvement or lean methodologies
Strong communication/presentation skills
MS Office proficiency to specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strong organization skills
Willing to learn and be strong in Root-Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
Able to lead teams
Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and internal customers/stakeholders
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities that will exist in your daily workload
Preferred
Prior completed training in at least 100% of the requirements for the CORE Certification Program's Apprentice certification and actively participated in CORE activities
