Strategic Account Executive (Government Utilities)
InvoiceCloud is a leading provider of secure, cloud-based electronic bill presentment and payment solutions, transforming how people pay bills and interact with essential services. They are seeking a Strategic Account Executive to drive new business in the Government and Utilities segment, focusing on high-value enterprise accounts and leading complex sales cycles to modernize digital payment experiences.
Responsibilities
Drive Net-New Revenue: Prospect, qualify, and close opportunities within large enterprise and strategic accounts in the government and utility markets
Own the Sales Process: Lead full-cycle enterprise sales engagements — from initial discovery through contract execution — with precision and accountability
Build Executive Alignment: Engage C-level and senior decision-makers, establishing InvoiceCloud as a trusted partner in their digital transformation journey
Sell on Value: Apply value-selling frameworks (Value Selling, Challenger, or Command of the Message) to link client challenges to quantifiable business outcomes
Develop Mutual Success Plans: Co-create joint engagement or mutual action plans to drive clarity, alignment, and deal velocity
Collaborate to Win: Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product, legal, and customer success to ensure cohesive and effective deal execution
Close Strategic Deals: Negotiate complex contracts and deliver outcomes that create measurable value for both clients and InvoiceCloud
Stay Market-Smart: Maintain deep awareness of industry trends, procurement models, and competitor activity to refine go-to-market strategies
Qualification
Required
10+ years of enterprise SaaS or technology sales success with consistent quota attainment
Experience in the public sector or utilities markets, including long procurement and RFP-driven sales cycles
Self-starter who excels at opening doors and developing new relationships within high-value strategic accounts
Skilled in complex, multi-threaded sales processes and proven ability to close seven-figure opportunities
Ability to engage and influence senior decision-makers with credibility and business insight
Proficient in leading with ROI and outcome-based selling rather than features or price
Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), Microsoft Office, and sales enablement platforms
Bachelor's degree required
