Research Professional – Alex Torgovitsky (Full-Time, Benefits Eligible)
The University of Chicago's Becker Friedman Institute for Economics is seeking a full-time Research Professional to work with Professor Alex Torgovitsky on research projects in econometrics. The role involves data collection, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation, serving as a bridge between undergraduate studies and graduate school in economics.

Qualification
Required
Completed a Bachelor's degree by June 2026
Strong quantitative and programming skills
Experience in collecting data in both tabular and spatial formats
Experience in developing algorithms that clean and organize data
Experience in conducting statistical analyses
Experience in running simulations
Experience in preparing manuscripts and presentations
Implement new and existing statistical procedures in R, Python, and/or Julia
Conduct literature reviews and identify new data sources

Preferred
Research experience as a research assistant
Bachelor's degree in economics, computer sciences, engineering, or related STEM fields

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong academic writing and communication skills
