Visitation & Exchange Facilitator

YWCA Charleston is dedicated to eliminating domestic violence through leadership, education, and community collaboration. They are seeking a Visitation & Exchange Facilitator to assist with the operation of a monitored visitation and exchange center for families experiencing domestic problems.

Individual and Family Services

Responsibilities

Conduct client intake, and needs assessments, and schedule visitation/exchange appointments
Monitor visits and exchanges, ensuring safety and adherence to center rules and regulations
Respond to client inquiries and issues, maintaining professional boundaries
Maintain accurate and confidential client documentation
Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating center policies, procedures, and programs
Contribute to program evaluations and data collection for reports and grants
Maintain the center's supplies and ensure a clean, organized facility
Schedule staff and volunteers to ensure adequate center coverage
Pursue and maintain West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WVCADV) Domestic Violence Advocate certification through required training and continuing education (for advocates working 15+ hours)
Advocate for clients and facilitate problem resolution
Assist with marketing and recruitment efforts
Participate in staff meetings and training
Ensure compliance with fire, health, and safety codes
Assist with special events, fundraisers, and training activities
Keep the coordinator and/or director informed of problems and needs
Perform other assigned duties

Required

High school diploma or GED
Good oral/written communication skills
Ability to work with a diverse population
Sensitive to and knowledgeable about domestic violence
Ability to respond to clients in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner
Excellent organizational skills
Workaround moderate noise, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs
Have and maintain a valid driver's license and a vehicle
Must pass a criminal background check
