Responsibilities

Drive the formulation and development of powder, anhydrous and emulsion-based formulation work as required by project scope or client needs
Manage full lifecycle development for assigned projects—including innovation, shade extensions, reformulations, and performance optimization—ensuring formulas meet quality, regulatory, and cost expectations
Evaluate, select, and integrate new raw materials, processing techniques, and formulation technologies to enhance texture, performance, manufacturability, and claim support
Partner directly with clients to define product targets, troubleshoot technical issues, refine aesthetics and performance, and deliver formulation solutions aligned with brand objectives
Provide comprehensive technical communication through presentations, reports, prototypes, and hands-on meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders
Continuously research and assess new trends, materials, and global innovations relevant to powders, emulsions, and anhydrous systems, incorporating findings into development strategies
Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Packaging, and Corporate Applied Research to ensure smooth project transitions and consistent alignment throughout development
Conduct and interpret preliminary stability testing for new and existing formulas, making necessary adjustments to strengthen formula robustness
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and customer requirements
Create, modify, and maintain formulas in DEVEX while adhering to all internal SOPs, documentation standards, BPM communication protocols, and R&D best practices
Contribute to global standardization efforts by partnering with Corporate Applied Research on shared processes, testing methods, and technical data frameworks
Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, batch records, and project files, reviewing progress regularly with the direct supervisor
Perform additional duties as assigned to support department and business needs

Required

Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific Discipline such as Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or related field
Understanding of cosmetic formulation science, with emphasis on powder technology (e.g., pigments, binders, dispersions, powders processing)
Working knowledge of emulsion and anhydrous formulation principles
Familiarity with raw materials, GLPs, GMPs, FDA guidelines, global regulatory requirements, and color cosmetics technologies
1–3 years of hands-on experience in cosmetic formulation, preferably including powders
Experience working in a very fast-paced laboratory or R&D environment with shifting priorities
Proven ability to adapt to rapid project changes, evolving client requests, and urgent internal priorities
Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple formulations simultaneously in a deadline-driven setting
Proficiency in Word, Excel, SAP, DEVEX, and other relevant technical software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation, presentations, and client-facing communication
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
Professional, organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative within a dynamic team environment
