IT Director
Q Center is a leading conference center in the Midwest, known for its exceptional service and versatile event spaces. They are seeking an IT Director to oversee the implementation and management of IT systems, ensuring client satisfaction and profitability while developing policies that align with the company's goals.

Responsibilities
Directing and managing the implementation, support, enhancement and utilization of data and telecommunication systems utilizing internal and vendor resources
Verifying that resources are utilized to maximize profitability and client satisfaction
Directing the activities and monitoring the performance of Information Technology; developing and implementing policies and procedures that support Q Center’s goals and objectives
Establishing quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifying opportunities for improvement
Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business procedures
Identifying, recommending, and implementing new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials
Ensuring that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with Q Center’s business plan and vision
Ensuring work environments are adequate and safe
Establishing and maintaining relationships with third parties/vendors, overseeing and managing all vendor contracts
Keeping abreast of market trends and competitor activities
Developing and maintaining complete knowledge of and complying with all departmental policies/service procedures and Standard Operating Procedures
Interviewing candidates for open management department positions and following standards for hiring approvals
Organizing and overseeing the work and schedules of departmental managers and/or supervisors
Conducting associate performance reviews in accordance with Q Center standards
Motivating, coaching and counseling all department management according to Q Center Policy
Establishing and administering the department’s budget
Planning, directing, controlling, implementing, evaluating, monitoring, and forecasting budgets and cost of sales to achieve financial objectives
Communicating and explaining new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale
Improving associate and guest satisfaction through policy and procedural changes
Leading coordination and integration of efforts among departments to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes
Projecting a positive image of the organization to associates, guests, industry, and community
Performing other related duties as assigned
Leading and managing the company’s day-to-day IT activity, ensuring all standards are followed
Complying with the company’s IT Security Policy as it pertains to hardware, software and security/data safety
Ensuring proper backup of all business related, user relevant data
Preparing the annual IT budget and forecast for the company and administering that budget in a fiscally responsible manner
Working and consulting with hardware and software vendors to setup and maintain all required equipment
Ensuring that the usage and installation of software is in accordance with the software licensing laws
Ensuring that all IT team members are properly trained in the use of all related devices and equipment
Ensuring compliance with all applicable security standards and Q Center Policies and Procedures
Overseeing strategy and management of all major service categories (Voice, Network, Server/Storage and End User)
Developing and implementing long-term strategic purchasing decisions for vendor support and PC hardware
Setting strategy for and overseeing company’s security and Disaster Recovery
Developing and overseeing execution of IT strategy to support Q Center’s business strategy and growth goals
Overseeing development and approving IT policies (including security and anti-virus programs), standards and best practices
Developing budgets associated with the information technology and communications systems and working with the Director of Operations to ensure appropriate and rapid approval
Researching and maintaining relationships with vendors for all technology, communications, and information systems, service and equipment purchases/leases
Being involved in and/or conducting departmental training; developing employee morale and skills
Organizing and conducting department meetings on a monthly basis
Conducting employee performance reviews in accordance with Q Center standards
Ensuring compliance with GDPR and PCI requirements including coordination with the Audit and Legal teams
Leading a multi-faceted IT department and infrastructure base
Developing and overseeing execution of long-term strategic recommendations for company
Overseeing development of sophisticated processes and tools to manage reliable provision of services to users
Setting the direction and overseeing development of training and other end-user support for company employees
Ensuring overall guest satisfaction and safety is achieved
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related technical field required
Minimum of 12 years of progressive information technology management experience required
Understanding of hotel applications an asset
Strong knowledge of PCI and GDPR requirements and audits
Experience of network/systems security required
Technology integration experience required
Experience liaising with business leaders to conduct needs analysis
Experience with Microsoft technologies including Office, Exchange, SQL and IIS
Knowledge of storage area networks and advanced networking topology
Flexible and long hours sometimes required
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Systems Architecture and records management experience is preferred
Data analysis and related technologies for financial modeling preferred
