Responsibilities

The Maintenance Mechanic will ensure on time start-up of equipment
Expedite all categories 3 & 4 (Food Quality/Food & Employee Safety) Work Orders and maintain High Risk Work Permits per SQF
Adherence to all plant GMP and sanitation policies
Compliance with all OSHA regulations as well as 100% plant safety policies
Working knowledge of WWTP operations and able to maintain and complete required environmental paperwork
Assist in designing, improving, and installing equipment and systems to improve plant quality, safety, and production needs
Responsible for the repair of all equipment breakdowns, preventative maintenance programs, and general repair
General maintenance including building repairs, plumbing, electrical work, boiler maintenance
Responsible for the operation, maintenance and general repairs to the anhydrous ammonia system
Must provide your own small hand tools
Must pass pulmonary function/respiratory test annually
Attend scheduled meetings and mandatory training as required
Perform Central Sanitizer, House Water, and Cheese Water chemical testing each shift
Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner
Maintain all documented information as per SQF requirements
Work overtime, as needed, which will require an obligation from you to fulfill
Carry out all additional duties assigned by a supervisor or foreman
Understand and follow all safety procedures, always wear proper PPE, never put yourself or other employees in harm’s way
