Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities and timely execution of functional and technical staff of the Joint Training and Readiness Division. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities
Independently performs activities related to specific joint training and readiness programs and related systems
Advises USTRANSCOM leadership and represents USTRANSCOM in matters related to joint training, force development, and readiness to ensure an effectively trained force, with a variety of joint functional area organizations

The incumbent must obtain and maintain a Special Sensitive (Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented information) security clearance
Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service
Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements
Provides subordinate supervisors and staff with direction and guidance regarding policies, procedures, and guidelines relative to the national, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff(CJCS), and combatant command level joint training system management
Oversees management and maintenance of the command's Readiness Program; ensures accurate and timely assessment reporting
Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher level management. headquarters, joint staff, and OSD
Synchronizes and ensures the successful integration of strategic mobility forces, logistics infrastructure, and modeling and simulation for USTRANSCOM support to numerous joint exercises
