Responsibilities
Contribute as part of the Data Science team during exploration, scoping, and requirements discussions
Directly engage with Availity’s underlying data; including taking part in the initial data exploration, the data cleaning, and any data transformation and feature engineering processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Engineering, Product, and Business Analytics) to understand project goals and deliver data solutions
Support the development and testing of machine learning and statistical models
Participate in the full development process to integrate these AI capabilities into our product as fully functioning features
Use data visualization tools to communicate insights to business and technical stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Strong foundation in Python and libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, or TensorFlow/PyTorch
Familiarity with SQL and data querying techniques
Understanding of statistical analysis, data wrangling, and machine learning fundamentals
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Interest in healthcare data and related regulatory concepts (HIPAA, PHI, etc.)
Previous internship or project experience in data analytics or machine learning
