Product Development Manager

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Key Accounts to identify and validate new product opportunities
Organize multiple projects and timelines using project management software
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, sales, marketing, production, operations, and procurement to successfully develop and launch new products
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, advising leadership on new products
Communicate directly with both customers and Account Managers to gather requirements for new products and work with Engineering and Production to define project scope and expectations
Work directly with the engineering team to review products in the development, prototype, and tooled sample phases for design requirements
Manage the regulatory certification process for new products
Monitor project status, maintain documentation, track milestones, and proactively communicate updates to team members and customers
Hold the project team accountable by providing direction and support throughout the project
Review sales information and propose new products for development
Present new products in development to internal stakeholders – showcase product features, review timelines, review potential issues and answer questions about function
Proactively identify issues throughout the product development process, propose solutions for process improvement and effectively implement solutions as needed

Required

Able to hold others inside and outside of our organization accountable
Able to quickly learn and understand technical information and industry terminology
Able to work in fast-paced, self-directed entrepreneurial environment
Proficient level computer skills including MS Office
Proficient in project management software such as MS Projects, Smartsheets, Jira, or Wrike
Prominent organization and presentation skills
Self-starter, with time management skills
3-5 years project management experience

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred
Technical project management preferred
