Non-Tenure-Track, Lecturer; Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
The University of North Alabama’s Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions is accepting applications for a non-tenure-track lecturer position in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. This role involves program compliance oversight, assisting in curriculum design, teaching, and advising students in the new occupational therapy assistant program according to ACOTE standards.

Responsibilities
Oversight of the occupational therapy assistant program’s baccalaureate projects, including helping select projects, finding content experts, ensuring alignment with the program’s curriculum design, reflection on the mission and philosophy of the program, and contributing to the advanced knowledge of the profession, as well as maintaining a means of formal evaluation of these student performances during and at the completion of the project
Responsible for teaching occupational therapy courses in the program
Course development; advising program students; maintaining office hours; serving on committees as necessary to maintain and improve the instructional program; participating in appropriate professional development activities; participating in service to the university and the community; instructing and assisting in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methods, and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions
Qualification
Required
bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an ACOTE-accredited program from a USDE-recognized institution is required
two years of clinical experience in the field of occupational therapy is required
practicing occupational therapy assistant (OTA) certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is required
must be currently certified and licensed in the state of Alabama or be eligible for licensure
Preferred
a master's degree in a related field that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institution is preferred
education focus is preferred
teaching experience preferred
an understanding of scholarship and project design preferred
national and state organization membership preferred
