Medical Director (Ketamine Clinic)

Responsibilities

Lead all ketamine/esketamine services in accordance with FDA, DEA, NYS, and REMS requirements
Maintain and update protocols for IV, intranasal (Spravato + compounded), and oral/sublingual ketamine, including monitoring and discharge standards
Oversee patient selection, informed consent, and treatment planning to ensure appropriateness and continuity of care
Review adverse events and implement quality improvements
Supervise 4–6 NPs/PAs across both sites; provide case consultation, chart review, and skills development
Run periodic clinical case conferences and ensure consistent documentation and REMS compliance
Partner with operations/marketing to build and maintain referring provider relationships (psychiatry, BH groups, PCPs, pain, TMS, PHP/IOP)
Participate in community and professional outreach to increase TRD/PTSD/anxiety referrals
Help refine service offerings (induction → maintenance → boosters) to support retention and higher lifetime value per patient
Provide clinical credibility in meetings with payers or large group practices, when needed
Ensure the sites remain Spravato-REMS certified and staff remain current on training
Support outcome tracking (PHQ-9, GAD-7), safety logs, and KPI dashboards

Required

MD or DO with active, unrestricted New York license (or ability to obtain)
Board certified in Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, or Psychiatry
Experience growing an outpatient practice — e.g., building referral networks, presenting to community providers, or expanding a service line
Demonstrated ability to work with and supervise NPs/PAs in a protocol-driven setting
Familiarity with ketamine/esketamine safety, dissociation management, and BP monitoring
Strong relationship-building skills; comfortable representing the practice externally

Preferred

Bonus: Physician with an existing patient panel or aligned practice who can transition patients into the ketamine/TRD program to accelerate census growth
