Unit Secretary
MUSC Children's Health is a leading healthcare provider, and they are seeking a Unit Secretary for the Neonatal ICU. The role involves performing clerical work, managing communications, processing physician’s orders, and maintaining records and supplies.

Handles incoming and outgoing communications

Implements new/revised clerical policies and procedures
Accurately performs computer related tasks
Qualification
Required
High school diploma
Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma
Must have excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
Extensive knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling, language usage and clerical formats
Considerable knowledge of office management policies, practices and procedures
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Ability to deal effectively with the public in disseminating and obtaining information
Ability to collect, compile, and assemble information in a clear concise manner
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion interpreting and applying policies and procedures
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff members and the general public
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 2 weeks of hire
Must maintain a Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider

Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance
Ability to match or discriminate between colors
Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements
Ability to work in a latex safe environment
Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions
Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function
Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required
Preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology and data processing preferred
