Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering
The University of Maine is a public research university seeking a joint tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to both departments and is expected to have expertise in analog circuit design with biomedical applications.

Responsibilities
Contribute to both programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Play a pivotal role in advancing new and emerging applications at the intersection of electrical engineering and biomedical engineering
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field, by the time of appointment
Demonstrated expertise in circuit design for bioengineering or biomedical applications
A strong research record, including publications in leading journals and evidence of potential for securing external research funding
Interest in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration bridging electrical and biomedical engineering
Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Preferred
Experience in modern circuit design methodologies and a research focus in at least one of the following areas: bioinstrumentation, microphysiological systems, or biomedical optical systems
Experience in developing and teaching courses related to circuit design or biomedical engineering
Experience in biomedical applications considerations, such as biocompatibility, power, safety and regulatory standards
Awareness of potential research collaborations at UMaine, such as through the Graduate School of Biomedical Science and Engineering and the Institute of Medicine
