Health Facilities Engineer. Mechanical. Missouri PE Required
University of Missouri Health Care is seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) to lead critical projects in healthcare infrastructure. The role involves designing and implementing facility upgrades, optimizing building systems, and ensuring compliance with various regulations to improve patient care.
Responsibilities
Design and implement plans for alterations and additions to healthcare facilities, including modifications to mechanical, electrical, and other utility systems. Implement standards, design quality, technical support/troubleshooting, energy modeling of building systems, and developing the scope of projects complying with CMS, state, federal, fire regulations, insurance requirements, and environmental regulations. Coordinate and develop engineering scope for capital projects
Integrate the system infrastructure assessment report to prioritize capital asset conditions annually. Develop accurate budgets and estimates relating to infrastructure systems and equipment. Provide direction for owner-furnished contractor-installed equipment procurement and submittal approval
Supervise consulting engineer performance, track progress of construction documents and bid issue dates through drawing review and value engineering processes, validate MEP as built, and ensure controls are installed correctly before project closeout
Conduct technical evaluations of utility distribution systems, powerplant, and building systems; analyze and implement cost-effective improvements
Work effectively across multiple departments as it relates to the adoption and amendment of system standards. Demonstrate working knowledge of software programs related to assigned duties
May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure by the Missouri Board for Professional Engineers (APELSLA)
Possession of a State of Missouri PE stamp
Three (3) years of PE licensed experience
Preferred
Master's degree
Engineering experience in a healthcare setting
Experience as a project manager
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department
