Responsibilities

Drafting correspondence, pleadings, opinion letters and other documents

Reviewing and analyzing documents for relevance and privilege

Preparing for, attending and summarizing depositions

Coordinating with witnesses

Communicating with clients, courts and other counsel

Drafting and arguing motions

Maintain current knowledge of Local Rules, Rules of Civil Procedure, FRCP and other applicable codes and regulations

Coordinate and communicate with parties outside the Firm including clients, courts, opposing and co-counsel, vendors, attorneys, secretaries, paralegals, case assistants, managers and other staff

Required

3–5 years of experience in Financial Services Litigation and/or Real Estate Litigation

Strong focus on representing lenders and handling enforcement actions in both state and federal courts

Experience with commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) is preferred but not required

Strong academic background

Proven research skills

Exceptional litigation, writing, and persuasive speaking abilities

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Licensed and admitted to practice in Illinois

Solid written and verbal communication skills and command of the English language

Maintain current knowledge of Local Rules, Rules of Civil Procedure, FRCP and other applicable codes and regulations

Coordinate and communicate with parties outside the Firm including clients, courts, opposing and co-counsel, vendors, attorneys, secretaries, paralegals, case assistants, managers and other staff

Preferred
