The Sr Weld Technician will demonstrate both hands-on and theoretical understanding of arc welding processes to produce high-quality welds and collaborate with multiple teams to optimize and automate welding processes.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate both hands on and theoretical understand of arc welding processes to produce high quality welds for Wire Directed Energy Deposition (Wire-DED, W-DED); Additive Manufacturing (AM)

Independently develop and own weld parameters to advance our current processes

Understand and operate mechanized or robotic welding equipment

Collaborate with multiple teams from design, robotics, materials, NDE, and operations using verbal and written communications

Assist in optimizing and automating our processes by implementing new and innovative ways to join materials

Required

4+ years of welding industry experience

Technical and theoretical experience with GMAW

Diagnose weld defects and suggest corrective actions for both repair and process optimization

Capable of reading engineering drawings and fabricating components using metal working tools including 3-axis mills, lathes, manual GTAW, GMAW welding

Ability to perform first pass diagnostics and identification of issues with robotic welding systems

Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills, including suggesting appropriate modifications to welding equipment to improve the process
