The Operational Excellence Intern will assist in implementing Finance Operations projects with a focus on process improvements and automation while gaining hands-on experience in the REIT profession.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and maintaining the Finance Operations project and initiative roadmap

Support the Operational Excellence Management Team in the successful planning and implementation of Finance Operations and company technology projects

Assist with optimizing Finance Operations processes and identify inefficiencies, work with Finance Operations team members on solutions to maximize productivity

Automate repetitive processes and tasks using leading technology (Power Automate, SQL Server, VBA, Power BI, RPA, BPM)

Develop Power BI dashboards and analytics to support Finance Operations reporting

Assist in training the Finance Operations team on innovative technology and automations developed

Participate in regular meetings with the Finance Operations team to discuss project management, standards, innovations and key project management objectives and concerns with other representative functional leaders and project leaders

Track portfolio activity to compile portfolio reports that are used throughout the organization

Create ad-hoc SQL queries and reports

Required

Student who will be a rising Senior during the summer of 2026 in an MIS degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.2

Experience or knowledge of VBA, Excel Macros, BPM workflow solutions, RPA solutions, SQL, Power BI, data analytics, data visualization, and other middleware software solutions

Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint

Knowledge of MS Project, Smartsheet, or other work planning application

Critical thinker with the ability to synthesize complex information and conceptualize solutions

Ability to foster strong, collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with key stakeholders

Intellectually curious, excellent analytical, critical thinking skills with strong business acumen
