Responsibilities
Prepare and review individual and small business tax returns with increasing autonomy over time
Learn tax law, compliance requirements, and advisory practices through structured training and hands-on mentoring
Support client relationships with a warm, service-focused approach
Assist the CPA owner during the transition period to ensure continuity of care
Work closely with advisors and service teams to integrate tax planning
Participate in community-based events and relationship-building initiatives
Contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities for referrals and additional services
Maintain accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in any field
Interest in building a long-term career within the Paxton community
Strong people skills: personable, relatable, and comfortable in a relationship-driven environment
Coachable, humble, and eager to learn technical subject matter
Comfort working in a traditional, legacy-style CPA office setting
Strong alignment with a faith-based, community-focused, family-oriented culture
Preferred
Interest in agriculture, community business, or rural economic environments is a plus
