USAFacts is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to making government data accessible and understandable. They are seeking a Content Team Intern to collaborate on creating and publishing engaging data-driven content, analyze data sets, and monitor content performance metrics.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with our brilliant team to create, edit, and publish engaging and data-driven content, including articles, blog posts, social media updates, infographics, videos, and other multimedia formats

Source, clean, and analyze data sets to create data visualizations, and interpret the data to tell an unbiased story to lay audiences

Conduct data analysis and research to uncover insights and trends that inform content development

Routinely update and improve existing content to maintain relevancy, accuracy, and data-driven focus

Monitor and analyze content performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and the overall impact of data-driven storytelling

Adhere to deadlines and brand guides, ensuring timely publication and consistency in tone, style, and quality

Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging content formats to ensure the content remains innovative and engaging

Keep up on current events and social issues to identify both in-the-moment and evergreen content that will resonate with broad audiences

Required

Currently pursuing a quantitative-focused undergraduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, or related

Data analysis: Experience with R, Python, SQL, or similar tools for data cleaning and analysis

Development workflow: Familiarity with Git, command line, NPM, and web development best practices

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work setting

A genuine interest in product development and user experience

A genuine interest in civic tech and the power of data in driving positive societal change
